My favorite album for 2015 is Paul McCartney's Unplugged (The Official Bootleg). I've long had the CD of McCartney's Unplugged, and it is easily my favorite McCartney album, with the music & performance being superb.

Just so you know, the album came out in 1991, so my CD excepting, I'm a bit late to the party. This year I decided to hunt down an LP of McCartney Unplugged, and I finally found one, on Amazon.

I paid a premium for it (yes, it was a rip-off), and I was very disappointed with the quality of the album I got. The vinyl is credit card thickness, and although it sounds significantly better than the CD, it suspect it only hints at the greatness of what might be on the master tapes, and I'd sure like to find out.

But the music is so sublime ... I love it, and it's an album I wouldn't want to live without, even if it's less than perfect.

So why make this my album of 2015?

Because I really hope that someone from Analogue Productions or ORG will read this post and consider remastering this album with the loving care it deserves, and put it out on 45RPM vinyl (ditto the Clapton, Neil Young, Nirvana, Rod Stewart, The Civil Wars, etc., Unplugged albums).

It would be a huge service to music lovers, as these Unplugged performances are some of those artists best performances, and I would be willing to pay through the nose for them on lovingly produced 45RPM versions. Just sayin'.
