I wanted to let you know that "The Duelund-Altec Project - Dare to Dream!" article is now live at Positive Feedback.
End view of the Duelund CAST Sn-Cu crossover.
As you know if you've been reading along, the Duelund-Altec Project was a major project on a number of levels, and from the time of conception of the project until the feature article appearing at Positive Feedback it has been a year and ten month journey!
The feature article tells the story of the successful marriage of the latest state-of-art Duelund Coherent Audio CAST tinned-copper capacitors, inductors, and resistors - in a Jean Hiraga inspired crossover circuit - with the historically important vintage Altec loudspeakers that were custom made for the domestic use of conductor Leopold Stokowski in the early 1960s (hereinafter referred to as the “Stokowski” Altec’s).
I consider the Duelund CAST tinned-copper components to be a dramatic advancement in performance for the audio arts, and please join me in extending a huge “Thank you!” to Frederik Carøe at Duelund Coherent Audio for supporting the Duelund-Altec Project by developing, building, and providing all of the Duelund CAST tinned-copper components that made this project such an impressive success. Thank you, Frederik!
The Duelund-Altec Project turned out spectacularly well, and the performance of the Duelund-ized Altec's is absolutely amazing in terms of musicality, sonics, and particularly in the way they connect me as the listener to the full emotional impact of the music.
I'm so spellbound by what the Duelund-ized Altec's can do that I've found it to be extremely difficult to articulate their full abilities yet, particularly in the area of emotional impact, for which I've never heard their equal.
You should consider the feature article at Positive Feedback to be a "Part 1" of sorts, as you will be reading about how the Duelund-ized "Stokowski" Altec's perform with some truly exciting components from Pass Labs, Great Plains Audio, Audio Note UK, and the Leben HiFi Stereo Company in the coming months!
Please join me in reading about this exciting audio adventure HERE, and as always, thanks for stopping by to visit me here at Jeff's Place, and may the tone be with you!
