It’s always a pleasure to have visitors, and this weekend I was particularly fortunate to have Pete (Pete Riggle Audio), Stephaen (6Moons), Kara (deHavilland Electric Amplifier Company), Harry (Two Bald Guys Audio), and way cool friends Ron and Chad stop by for a little music listening.
In the photo above that’s Pete (left), Harry (middle), and Kara (right) checking out the Tannoy Westminster Royal SEs.
Kara delivered a production pair of her new deHavilland Model 50A mono tube amplifiers to Ron this weekend, so you can expect to see a follow-up photo shoot and some brief listening impressions of Ron’s 50A amps at some point. I heard Kara’s development 50A amps last time she was over this way, and suffice it to say that the deHavilland 50A amps are really something special. Truly a work of audio art.
Harry (seated) really liked the Westminsters and was in a state of nirvana while listening. Kara and Pete observe the music-making ability of the mighty SEs in the background.
Here we are getting warmed up for a little listening session with Kara (left), Pete (couch foreground), Harry, and Stephaen (background). Pete was pouring over the owners manual for the Westminsters, marveling that Tannoy can produce such a complex and exquisitely crafted set of loudspeakers for such a reasonable price ($35K USD - gasp!). Like Harry said, once you’ve heard how good the Westminsters are, it makes you wonder how anyone can justify charging more for a loudspeaker.
Pete, Kara, and Harry were checking out the Westminster cabinets. They were really impressed with the workmanship. Me too!
That’s a quick Sunday afternoon update from Jeff’s Place. From all of us to all of you - happy listening - and may your music always be playing!
