Leben CS-300B SET Stereo Amplifier

06-18-2011 | By Jeff Day |

As you know, I fell in love with the Leben Hi-Fi Stereo Company and the electronics designs of Mr. Taku Hyodo, the founder of Leben Hi-Fi Stereo Company back when I first reviewed the Leben CS-600 integrated amplifier for 6Moons in 2007.

I'm not the only one smitten with the Leben electronics' charms either, as reports continue to roll in from the print magazines about how Leben has been steam-rolling much more expensive gear in Hi-Fi shows in Canada and the USA, often taking 'best sound of the show' honors from systems often costing at least ten times as much. No matter which way you look at it that's impressive.

Since that original 6Moons review of the CS-600 integrated amplifier - which I still have - I added the Leben RS-28CX preamplifier, CS-660P power amplifier, CS300X SE integrated amplifier, RS-100 & RS-100U preamplifiers, and RS-30EQ phono stage to my Leben stable. That's pretty amazing on the amplification front, because I was pretty much a single ended triode devotee, and the Leben push-pull amps lured me away with their charms - that ought to tell you quite a lot about their musical prowess. Over time the only piece of Leben gear that's left my system was the RS-28CX preamplifier which I sold to help pay for my Tannoy Westminster Royal SE loudspeakers (another Hi-Fi love affair!).

The creative force behind Leben electronics - Mr. Hyodo - is once again considering adding a new creation to the Leben line-up, a 300B single ended triode stereo amplifier, with a chassis similar to the CS-660P pictured below. Mr. Hyodo is now trying to decide if he should go into production with the new Leben CS-300B SET amplifier, as Leben production is at full capacity and he would have to stop producing something to start producing the Leben CS-300B SET.

If you'd like to see the Leben CS-300B SET become available e-mail Leben and let them know - I did! Here's the e-mail address: [email protected]

Let's hope there is enough interest to see the CS-300B go into production!
