I'm working hard writing the SPEC Review.
I've got all my listening impressions written up for my Leben CS-600 & Harbeth Super HL5 loudspeaker based system (above), and I'm sure a lot of you are wondering how the SPEC Real Sound Amplifier compares to the Leben CS-600.
I'm now working on writing up my impressions for my Westminster Royal Special Edition loudspeaker based system.
You can see the SPEC Real Sound Amplifier in the foreground. That's the superb New Valve Order SPA II phono equalizer on the bottom shelf of the equipment rack.
The SPEC with the NVO makes for quite the minimalist high-performance combination!
Also in the background you can see the Garrard Project 2015 which has now arrived safely here at Jeff's Place.
Here's a closer look.
The combination of the Artisan Fidelity Statement Plinth in Macassar Ebony with Stillpoints Ultra isolation feet, the Classic Turntable Company modified Garrard 301 with a brass platter, mounted with two of Thomas Schick’s tonearms, one for mono with an Ortofon SPU Mono CG 25 Di MkII, and the other for stereo with an Ortofon SPU Classic GM MKII, is even more impressive in person than it is in the photos.
It is stunning to behold!
I've been too busy this last week to get everything set up and optimized fully, but I do have a rough setup in place and am really excited about getting everything dialed in perfectly for the main system.
As soon as I get the SPEC review finished and submitted to the Editors at Positive Feedback Online, I'll get started in earnest writing about the Garrard Project 2015.
I want to tell you all about Ray Clark (Classic Turntable Company), Christopher Thornton (Artisan Fidelity), and Thomas Schick. As you would expect, they're all massive Garrard enthusiasts, and the work they're doing in their respective fields is very impressive.
I'll be writing numerous blog posts along the way to give you the inside story of everything, eventually culminating in a feature article for Positive Feedback Online that will be more than a worthy successor to The Garrard Project articles I wrote for Six Moons ten years ago (how time flies!).
As always, thanks for stopping by, and may the music playing make you happy!
