This morning Frederik announced:
"Following a lot of interest - we have today started production of a new DCA20GA wire. Made in the same way as the renowned DCA16GA wire - featuring tinned/copper multi-strand conductors in cotton and oil. The wire will have less metal than the 16GA and thus a higher AWG. It will be ideally suited for interconnects and smaller signals. Deliveries should happen in first quarter of 2017."
Those of you who are particularly eagle-eyed might recognize that the new Duelund Coherent Audio DCA20GA wire has the familiar ring of the multi-stranded tinned-copper 20AWG conductors that are hidden inside the Belden 8402 microphone cable interconnects I am so fond of.
This is a particularly wonderful trend that is developing, and I'm thinking a tinned-copper DCA20GA wire in a baked oil & cotton dielectric as interconnects could be pretty wonderful, given how good the Belden 8402 is, not to mention how wonderful the DCA16GA is!

The first breaking news is that my Duelund Coherent Audio DCA16GA Premium Tinned-Copper 'Vintage Tone' Cable article for Positive Feedback has just gone live in the November-December issue, here. I hope you enjoy it!
I also heard from Chris Johnson at Parts ConneXion this morning, and he told me some very good news!
Due to the rather incredible level of interest created by the prototype 0.22uF Duelund CAST tinned-copper capacitors that Frederik sent me to try, they are going into production! Woo-hoo!
Thanks to all of you for expressing your interest! It took me by complete surprise that this happened so quickly, and it couldn't have happened without your interest, so thank you!
It's truly wonderful to have state-of-art tinned-copper 'tone caps' available from Duelund Coherent Audio.
Chris told me that he has placed an order today for four values, 0.1uF, 0.22uF, 0.47uF and 1.0uF, and he thinks they will be in stock mid-January.
Chris has also been besieged with requests for bespoke Duelund DCA16GA RCA interconnects after I started writing about them and how good they are.
Chris told me that due to demand, he's putting together a web page where you'll be able to order them directly, which for those of you who don't want to roll your own, that's really good news.
Chris said until they get a web page created, if you'd like to order the bespoke Duelund DCA16GA interconnects, you can contact him at [email protected] . Chris said he'll do his best to get you a quote within 30 minutes of getting an email from you, and that they should be able to build up your set within 24-hours of getting your order.
The pair of prototype 0.22uF Duelund CAST tinned-copper capacitors that I have been conditioning on my Cable Cooker™ are now ready to go into my vintage McIntosh MX110Z. I hope to be able to get to that this weekend, so stay tuned.
Next the C3 bundles of prototype 0.22uF Duelund CAST tinned-copper capacitors that I put into my Altec A5 Voice of the Theatre crossovers will get their turn for a little conditioning, probably for 4 to 6 days or so.
Thanks for stopping by, and may the tone be with you!
