This Saturday morning I was up at 4:30 AM getting ready to start the review process for the ASR Basis Exclusive phono equalizer. Now that's dedication!
Reviewing is a long process of equipment setup, comparative listening to other components, listening for enjoyment, shooting photos, and writing (and re-writing) articles. I repeat the process until I am satisfied that I have wrung the last little bit of performance out of the item being evaluated, and I have as accurately as possible articulated to you its merits.
This morning before I re-installed the ASR Basis Exclusive phono equalizer back into my system I thought I'd shoot a few photos while running a couple loads of laundry (I know - how mundane!). That's it on the cabinet to the right with the diffuser light pointing at it. The amplification circuitry is in the right-hand chassis, which is connected to the massive battery power supply on the left with an equally massive power cord.
As most of you are aware, I just finished the Positive Feedback Online review of the impressive ASR Emitter II Exclusive Version Blue amplifier designed by Friedrich Schaefer, which I found to be the most musically satisfying amplifier I’ve had the pleasure of listening to in my Hi-Fi system. The Basis Exclusive is Friedrich’s ASR statement phono stage and it is the intended to be the partner to the Emitter II Exclusive Version Blue statement amplifier for LP lovers.
Anyways, I thought I'd share some of the photos with you from this mornings photo shoot since it's not all that easy to find good photos of the ASR Basis Exclusive online. You can click on the photos to see a larger version. I've been shooting the ASR Basis Exclusive topless so you could see how gorgeous it is inside - the quality is amazing!

The version of the ASR Basis Exclusive I have in for review is designed for those with two tonearms on their turntable, or two turntables, and has what is essentially two phono stages installed on one chassis. Yes, it's impressive!
