A 2013 St. Henri Shiraz!

Andy brought a St. Henri Shiraz all the way from Australia for us to try, and it was superb! Thanks, Andy!

I'm hoping that one of these days I can get Andy to tell us about his home system, which is really unique and intriguing, and which I think a lot of you would find as interesting as I do.

Sumile MC phono cartridge

We were all marveling at the astonishing musicality and nuance that the Sumile MC phono cartridge delivers so easily.

I'm using the Arai Lab step-up transformer with it (review to come), which is designed specifically for ultra low internal impedance cartridges like the Sumile, and it really gets the considerable best out of the Sumile.

I had the Sumile mounted on my Thomas Schick headshell, with my DIY Art of Tone 22 gauge tinned-copper headshell wires, and a Duelund 1.0 silver/silk interconnect from the SUT to the phono inputs of my vintage McIntosh MX110Z tuner-preamplifier, and the combination was magic!

The Arai Lab SUT is to the left of the turntable, and it really is a beautiful match to the Sumile.

On The Alternate Blues the trumpets were sounding absolutely sublime, and about as real and natural as you're likely to find short of a jazz club.

'Lifeline' by Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals.

Andy really likes Ben Harper, so I put on my copy of Lifeline for him to hear, and we had fun with that!
