I had an absolutely fantastic weekend visiting with family at my nephew Matt's wedding held at Mount Vernon, near Alexandria, Virginia.
In the photo above, left to right, is Milagros, Matt's lovely new wife, then Matt my nephew, the priest, my awesome sister-in-law JoAnne, my nephew, Chris, Chris' lovely daughter, Chloe, and his charming wife, Joanna.
My immediate family is quite small now, and excepting for me, Mom (Grandma Jaine), grandson Liam, and JoAnne's husband, Andy, that's pretty much all of us in the photo above.
My nephew Matt walking his Mom, JoAnne, down the aisle to her seat (Martha, Liam, and Lucia in the background).
My older brother Bob (Matt's Dad), tragically passed away from cancer at the very young age of 47, when Matt and his older brother Chris were still kids.
JoAnne, Bob's wife, is an incredible lady, and has raised two fine sons, all of which my brother Bob would be extraordinarily proud of.
My nephew, Chris, is an attorney, and works as a legal counsel for the United States Senate, and my nephew Matthew, is a computer scientist who works for the Federal Reserve, the central banking system of the US. Along with me, working as a scientist / program administrator for the Office of Science, the largest funding source of basic science research in the US (with over 115 affiliated Nobel Prize winners!), we have all devoted our lives to civil service in hopes of making our world a better place to inhabit.
Chris and Joanna's daughter, the delightful Chloe, did a splendid job as flower girl!
Not only was it wonderful to be able to see my family at the wedding, it was also a delight to meet my new family on Milagro's side for the very first time!
My sister-in-law, JoAnne, with her husband, Andy, who have been the solid rock of a foundation for our family.
Family and friends waiting for Matt and Milagros departure, while blowing a cloud of bubbles to surround them in their exit from Mount Vernon. Fun!
Milagros and Matt's wedding was a wonderful time to catch up with immediate family and meet new family!
Love to you all!
