My friend Ron brought over his little 4 watt Transcendent OTL single ended mono amps to give a listen to on the Westminsters. These are very refined little amps with a natural and relaxed presentation on the Westminsters. They didn’t seem to really have enough power at 4 watts to make the Westminsters come alive on peaks at loud levels like the MasterSound Caesar did, but for everything else they sounded beautiful and I was glad I got a chance to give them a listen.
While it depends on the listener and their preferred listening levels, I think that the Westminsters do best with more than 4 watts. The 9 watts of the Master Sound Caesar is more than enough on the Westminsters, so I’m guessing their power requirement for lighting up a large room on dynamic swings is somewhere above ... say 5 watts?
