As I mentioned in my last post on upcoming reviews, the Fab Four of Mhdt Labs: Mouse, Horse, Dog, and Tiger, sent me their Stockholm V2 USB DAC to review for Positive Feedback Online.
As you know, I've reviewed both the Mhdt Labs Paradisea+ and Havana for Positive Feedback Online, and I've really liked what I've heard.
You might want to think about the Stockholm V2 as the ultimate upgrade to the ever musical Havana USB DAC. With complete disregard for Moore's Law, Mouse, Horse, Dog, and Tiger have stuck with a PCM56P R-2R DAC, but with a little design wizardry it is now capable of asynchronous operation and up to 24bits/192kHz digital signal inputs for high rez listening.
I'm not going to cut the Stockholm V2 any slack, as I'm going to be comparing it to my vinyl front end in the review (with maybe a few comparisons to the Havana thrown in as well).
The Fab Four at Mhdt told me to give it plenty of burn in time, so it's doing duty in my System 2 Music Lovers system to get some extra hours while I work through my review queue.
It will be a while before the review appears in print as there's a number of items in the review queue ahead of the Stockholm V2, but stay tuned, I'll be keeping you posted about developments along the way.
