Greetings, friends, I hope you are doing well!
About a month ago on Positive Feedback's Disqus comment service, Mark asked me what I thought of the new Duelund DCA10GA tinned-copper cable.
I sheepishly told Mark that I didn't even know there was a new DCA10GA version of Duelund's popular tinned-copper cable product line, but to let me know how he liked it if he decided to try it.
Mark went ahead and put some DCA10GA cables into his audio system, and reported back on his first impressions:
"I now have the DCA10GA in place, and first impressions are very positive: like the 12GA, but more so. The bass is deeper and better defined, and feels like it has gained in slam and dynamics. The overall sound is richer. Vocals, I think, actually sound a little better. Some female vocals in particular have lost their hardness. Clearly, I'll need both it and my ears to settle before I fully commit, but it certainly isn't too warm, and none of the mid-range beauty is absent."
After Mark shared his results with me, I thought I should check in with Frederik about the DCA10GA, but I've been busy and got sidetracked and forgot about it.
I got a surprise in the mail on Wednesday. Frederik sent me a package of Duelund DCA10GA tinned-copper cable for me to check out!
I love surprises, and what's better than an audio surprise? Thanks Frederik!
I sent a quick note to Frederik letting him know his package of DCA10GA arrived safe & sound, and then went out to the Duelund website to see what I could find out about the DCA10GA.
To my surprise, yours truly is mentioned in some very kind words on the Duelund webpage about the product line of tinned-copper cables (excerpt below). Wow! Thanks, Frederik, much appreciated!
Many thanks to Frederik for making the Golden Era sound of tinned-copper cables available to us all in the Duelund Coherent Audio product line of tinned-copper in baked cotton-in-oil dielectric cables.
I'll be building a set of DCA10GA speaker cables in the near future, and will compare them to the DCA16GA and DCA12GA speaker cables, then report back.
I just went out to Parts Connexion to see if I could find pricing for the DCA10GA, and it looks like the MSRP is $43.95 USD per meter, and at least for the moment, it is on sale for $21.95 USD per meter should you want to do some of your own listening comparisons in the meantime.
As always, thanks for stopping by, and may the tone be with you!
