I had forgotten to mention it earlier, but in the October 2011 'Recommended Components' issue of Stereophile there's a couple of notable mentions:
The EMT TSD 15 moving coil phono cartridge landed in 'Class A' by virtue of Art Dudley's earlier review of it. I have become increasingly impressed with my own EMT TSD 15 that is in residence on my VPI Classic 1 record player. I've also noticed that the more you put classic-style components like the Tannoy Westminsters, 300B amps, turtables, the EMT TSD 15 cartridge, and so forth, together, the more the fine qualities of each of these items is reenforced and further revealed. There's certain approaches that have stood the test of time for really bringing the music to life, and I'll try to highlight those components for you as I run across them. Certainly the EMT TSD 15 is one of those components.
The Leben CS600 integrated amplifier continues to reside in the 'Class A' best-of-the-best category for integrated amplifiers in Recommended Components, as it surely deserves to. I love my own CS600, as you know well, and combined with an RS30EQ phono equalizer it's the basis for a sensible super system. I think it's absolutely wonderful that Leben is getting wider recognition in the audiophile print media. Way to go Stereophile!
Stereophile is still my favorite print magazine, and with a lineup of writers that is - like their Class A recommendations - the best-of-the-best.
Thanks for stopping by!
Best,
Jeff
