It's a chilly (-5 degrees Fahrenheit with windchill) but sunny Saturday morning here in Washington State in the Pacific Northwest of the US, so it's a great time to catch up on posts and listen to some music. By the way, I try to stay up on all the comments, so if I miss one it's due to an oversight, not because I'm ignoring anyone. So if I drop the ball be sure to ping me again.
I really like the Alone & Acoustic blues album by Buddy Guy & Junior Wells, and it's certainly one of my favorite blues albums of all time. I've had the CD for years, so when I noticed that it was available on vinyl now at Acoustic Sounds I bought it in a heartbeat, and boy is it worth the $21 it costs. The music is awesome, and the recording of this all acoustic set is superb.
If you had a chance to read through my jazz post about 20 of my favorites, you'll recognize Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus by the Vince Guarlaldi Trio. When I noticed that Acoustic Sounds released it on 45RPM LP I ordered one, and I've really been enjoying it. Highly recommended!
I missed The Band first time around because I'm mostly a jazz guy, but I'm sure glad I caught this Limited Edition reissue on 180 gram vinyl from Capital, it's really great music. This album is well worth owning.
I'm going to be working on a review of a couple of goodies from Acoustic Revive today, and hope to get that review finished up this weekend and sent over to Dave at Positive Feedback Online for publication.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy these music recommendations!
