I have been looking forward to getting some Audiosilente cartridge clips I ordered, as I want to build two identical sets of DCA26GA headshell leads with them.
That way I can use them in two identical headshells, one mounted with my stock Denon DL-103 phono cartridge (above), and the other with the exotic Audio Musikraft hot-rodded Denon DL103 (below), so I can compare apples-to-apples, so to speak.
I've really been looking forward to listen to the AudioMusikraft, so that'll be fun!
As I was preparing for that adventure by cutting the eight DCA26GA headshell leads I would need, I thought that in the meantime I would make a pair of interconnects out of some Duelund DCA26GA, and give them a listen.
So, I cut four 1.5 meter lengths of DCA26GA tinned-copper wire, terminated them with Switchcraft RCAs, and presto, I had a new pair of interconnects!
Intuitively, I would think that DCA26GA would be kind of small for line level signal amplitudes, but hey, why not give it a try?
I felt like watching the American Epic Sessions, which sound really great on my Altec A5 Voice of the Theatre loudspeakers
I unplugged the Duelund DCA16GA interconnects that I've been suing with my OPPO UDP-203 Blu-ray player, and installed the 'skinny' Duelund DCA26GA interconnects I just built.
I then started watching the American Epic Session, and like always I was entranced by the vintage Western Electric recording gear, the amazing musicians, and the wonderful music!
I'll tell you what, I was impressed with what I was hearing from the Duelund DCA26GA interconnects on the American Epic Sessions.
They sounded a lot different than the Duelund DCA16GA interconnects I've been using, but overall they were musical and natural sounding.
The DCA26GA interconnects sounded very nice on the Chester & Lester CD I played too.
I'll let them play for a few days while watching some movies and such, and get some time on them, and then I'll try them in my Westminster based system.
That's it for now!
As always, thanks for stopping by, and may the tone be with you!
