Yazaki-San Checking In: The Adventures in Real Sound Continue!

10-23-2016 | By Jeff Day |

It's always a pleasure to hear from the delightful Yazaki-san about his ongoing audio adventures, and this time Yazaki-san is checking in from Bangkok while visiting Nattawut-san and Tanawat-san.

"I hope you are all well, Jeff-san!"

"I am far away, southwest of Japan, and I meeting again with Nattawut-san and Tanawat-san in Bangkok. They have been eager readers of Jeff's Place."

"Last year they started a restoration and modification business for vintage amplifiers, and if you haven't had a chance yet, please drop by Nattawut-san's blog, Magic Moment. You can see one example of his fine craftsmanship here."

(From Jeff: What a terrific blog and business! My best to Nattawut-san and Tanawat-san in their new business venture, and for all those to come!)

"I would like to express my personal gratitude for your effort of continuing your generous and meaningful blog, Jeff's Place, as I have met such fine young and straightforward friends through your great blog. Yes, I have been so encouraged with the nice relationship from early this year."

"And also they are now our important customer of Arizona Capacitors, especially the Blue Cactus."

The Sentimental Cafe. Wow!

The Sentimental Cafe. Wow! I love it!

"Sentimental Cafe and Sentimental Studio are next in their business plans."

(From Jeff: What a fantastic idea! In a similar way, I have long fantasized about opening a jazz cafe in Portland, Oregon, or Seattle, Washington, when I retire as a scientist, in the spirit of the jazz cafes that Yazaki-san visited in Tokyo in his college years. My best wishes to Nattawut-san and Tanawat-san with their Sentimental Cafe & Sentimental Studio!)

"Their first customer, Kritapas-san, asked for their modification of his Marantz Model 7, and he is a vintage gear lover. He was surprised at how good his reborn Model 7 sounded,  he told me."

"Also, with another capital investor, Dr. Thaweesack-san, they are now organizing and preparing the new style audio shop in the center district of Bangkok. It would be opened the end of this year, they said."

"I hope I could offer them some effective advice for improving the sound quality!"

"My report from Bangkok!"

"Best regards,"

"Shirokazu Yazaki"

It is always wonderful to hear from Yazaki-san, and I would like to thank Yazaki-san for taking time out of his busy travels to tell us about his adventures in Bangkok with Nattawut-san and Tanawat-san - thank you!

From my home here at Jeff's Place, I wish you all the best in your audio adventures!

May the tone be with you, and the music bring you joy!
